A Connectionist Approach to Telecommunication Network Optimisation
Chris Leckie |

| Abstract | |
| In this paper, we consider a resource allocation problem for reconfiguring telecommunication networks. In a time-critical application such as this, there are the conflicting goals of maximising the quality of the solution while minimising the time required to find this solution. The approach that we have taken is to model the optimisation problem using a connectionist representation that has similarities to Hopfield networks. In contrast with Hopfield networks, however, we restrict the changes that can be made to each node so that the state of our network always represents a feasible solution to the problem. | |
